Hyderabad youth held for fake number plate case

Hyderabad Traffic Police have uncovered a case involving the use of a fake number plate and arrested a 22-year-old driver in Saidabad. According to officials, Syed Hussain Mehdi @ Izhan, a resident of Khanbagh, Chanchalguda, allegedly used a fake registration number TS11EK0593 on his Hero Dio two-wheeler without registering the vehicle at the Regional Transport Office since its purchase in 2019.

Police said the accused used the fake number plate to avoid traffic challans and evade financial scrutiny, which led to multiple violations being wrongly recorded against the genuine vehicle owner, Md. Ibrahim of Aman Nagar, Talabkatta, Hyderabad.

Following a complaint, Saidabad Police registered FIR No.145/2026 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act. The accused was served a notice under BNSS provisions, and further investigation is underway.
