IIIT Hyderabad celebrates 29th Foundation Day

The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H) marked its 29th Foundation Day on Wednesday with the spotlight on the future of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and stronger industry-academia partnerships. Held around the theme “Navigating the Future of AI & Technology,” the celebrations featured BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman and Board Member of Cyient and former Chairman of NASSCOM, as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker.

A major attraction was a plenary discussion on “Deepening Industry-Academia Collaboration.” The discussion examined ways universities and companies can move beyond conventional engagement and build sustained partnerships in research, talent development, innovation and emerging technologies. The occasion also saw the establishment of the JA Chowdary Faculty Chair, supported by JA Chowdary, founder of ISF and Junicorn100K and a prominent figure in India’s technology ecosystem.

A dedicated corpus has been allocated to the chair, which is intended to strengthen research and innovation at IIIT-H in emerging technologies .Director Prof. Sandeep K. Shukla outlined a continuing emphasis on research, talent and industry partnerships, particularly in AI and emerging technologies.
