Increased vigil on medical examinations

State Medical and Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said on Thursday that as a measure to increase transparency in medical education examinations, a 'Remote Command Control' has been set up in NTR University of Health Sciences. He said that the progress of UG and PG medical annual/supplementary examinations in 37 government and private medical colleges in the state will be monitored from the Command Control Room of the University through CCTV cameras so that there is no possibility of incidents like cheating. 

The Minister inaugurated the Command Control Room of the University on Thursday afternoon. Briefing the media on the occasion, the Minister said that about 60,000 students appear for the examinations every year under the annual and supplementary examinations in all the courses. He said that the examinations conducted for students studying in Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Nursing and other courses from MBBS and PG examinations will be monitored through the Remote Command Control Room. 

As of now, 5 medical colleges have started monitoring the status of examinations. The movements of the students appearing for the exams in the rooms of the college are stored in the computers in the command control room, where the recording (scenes) will be available for up to 70 days. The command control room has a total of six screens of video. 

The command and control operations will continue under the auspices of Origo Biz Solutions System. The software was provided by Doorank. The cost of setting up the center was around Rs 30 lakh. The cost of the two-year run will be around Rs 1.5 crore and other examinations conducted by the university will also be monitored through the remote command and control center.
