The Intermediate Public Examinations commenced peacefully across Telangana on Wednesday, with nearly 10 lakh students appearing for the tests at 1,495 examination centres set up in all 33 districts. The first-year (Class 11) examinations began at 9 a.m. under tight security and systematic supervision by authorities.

According to the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education, 4,89,126 first-year students registered for the second language Paper-I examination. Meanwhile, 5,07,949 second-year students are scheduled to appear for the second language Paper-II on Thursday. The examinations will continue until March 18.

To ensure smooth conduct, the Board deployed around 28,500 invigilators along with 1,495 chief superintendents and departmental officers. In addition, 75 flying squads and 200 sitting squads have been constituted to prevent malpractice and monitor the examination process closely. Students arrived at centres at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time, and a grace period of five minutes was allowed for late entry.

Police made elaborate security arrangements at all examination centres. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS were imposed, restricting the assembly of five or more persons within a 200-metre radius of centres. Photocopy and internet centres within 100 metres were directed to remain closed during examination hours.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation operated additional bus services to facilitate student travel. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said students could board or alight at any point along RTC routes by showing their hall tickets. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conveyed his best wishes, urging students to remain confident and stress-free.
