In a bid to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the state government schools, the government extended internet connectivity to remote schools in Telangana. A senior official from the IT department mentioned on Saturday that AI tools require internet access to function properly. To address this need, the state government has begun efforts to extend internet connectivity to 26,000 schools located in remote villages through T-Fiber, and progress is being made.

Several schools have AI-ready classrooms in several schools, equipping them with high-speed internet facilities. The ZP High School located in Adivasi Srirampur village, Peddapalli district, has gained internet access through this initiative. This connectivity has empowered teachers to integrate artificial intelligence into their lessons, enabling them to address students' inquiries effectively.

An official noted that the AI tool, Perplexity.ai, is actively assisting students by responding to their questions and providing supplementary information related to their lessons. Both teachers and students are enthusiastic about this resource, particularly given that they are from a government school in a small village.

The T-Fiber team shared this achievement on social media, prompting a response from Arvind Srinivas, Co-Founder and CEO of Perplexity AI based in San Francisco, California. He expressed his delight that students are utilising their free AI tool to enhance their learning experience, emphasising that this moment is truly remarkable for a government school situated in a remote area of Telangana.

During his visit to America last year, Minister Sridhar Babu met Arvind Srinivas, Co-Founder and CEO of Perflexity AI, and asked him to stand by the Telangana state in achieving technological equity. Recently, T-Fiber MD Venuprasad Panneru has travelled to San Francisco and urged Telugu IT entrepreneurs to get involved in a large-scale initiative aimed at providing internet access to schools as part of their social responsibility, which has been generating positive outcomes. In this journey, the ZP High school in Adivasi Srirampur village is now leading the way.
