The newly launched rotary smart parking facility at KBR Park Entry-1, Jubilee Hills, is drawing praise from citizens. Constructed on a compact 405 square meter area, the 15-metre-tall multi-level structure accommodates 72 vehicles, making it a game-changer in addressing Hyderabad’s urban parking challenges.
Developed as a pilot project by Nava Nirman Associates under a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) with the GHMC, this high-tech facility has caught the public eye for its efficiency and space-saving design. The project has been awarded on a 10-year lease under the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) model.
The mechanized structure uses a vertical rotary mechanism with smart card access, CCTV monitoring, real-time tracking, and EV charging points. It operates from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving both daily walkers and local visitors. According to the operator, “After 5 p.m., the facility is almost full. The response has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Venkat, a regular walker at KBR Park, says, “This is new for Hyderabad. It’s easy to park now and doesn’t take much time or space. With the city getting crowded, we need such smart solutions everywhere.” Shakir, another frequent visitor, shared his appreciation: “I’ve seen these systems in cities like Dubai and Riyadh. This is the first time I’m seeing such infrastructure in Hyderabad. It’s a great initiative.”
A spokesperson from Nava Nirman Associates confirmed, “This is just the beginning. GHMC approved this as a pilot project, and based on its success, the civic body is planning to replicate it across other key areas in the city.”
