Lawyers demand “Advocate Protection Act”

In protest against the brutal attack on advocate Ashok at the Siddipet Court premises on Friday, a large-scale demonstration was held today in front of the Bar Council of the High Court, Hyderabad, under the aegis of the Telangana Federation of Bar Associations (TFBA). Addressing the gathering, Telangana Federation of Bar Associations President Lakkineni Satyanarayana and advocate Naveen Kumar Vasireddy strongly condemned the attack, terming it a heinous act. 

They demanded stringent punishment for the accused involved in the incident. Speaking on the occasion, they pointed out that attacks on advocates have been increasing across the country in recent times, creating a serious threat to the legal fraternity. To curb such incidents and ensure the safety and dignity of advocates, they emphasized that the Advocate Protection Act is urgently required. 

Considering the gravity of the situation, they urged the State Government to immediately bring the Advocate Protection Act into force and take decisive steps to protect advocates while discharging their professional duties. Several advocates, including Prabhakar, Mani Teja, Naveen Pogula, Ramakrishna, Poorna Chander, and many others, participated in the protest in large numbers, expressing solidarity and demanding justice.
