LOCAL temples to close on lunar Eclipse

Many local temples under the umbrella of TTD including Tiruchanoor, Govindaraja Swamy, Sri Kodandarama Swamy, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Appalayagunta and many more will remain closed from the afternoon session that is 2pm onwards on September 07 following Lunar Eclipse.

The eclipse will last from 9:50pm of September 07 to 1:31am of September 08. As a traditional practice, the temples remains closed almost six hours before. After performing the Suddhi pujas, the temple reopens Darshan for devotees.

In Tiruchanoor the temple closes by 2:15pm on September 07 and opens by 8am on September 08 while in Govindaraja Swamy closes by 3:30pm and opens up darshan from 9:30am onwards. At Srinivasa Mangapuram the temple door closes by 3:30pm and darshan commences by 8:30am. In Kapilatheertham the temple closes by 3pm and opens doors for darshan by 7am on Monday.

Similarly in several outside temples of TTD the temple doors closes by 2pm on September 07 and opens by 3am on September 08. After performing purificatory rituals devotees are allowed for darshan.
