Lokesh to visit South Korea to attract investments, strengthen ties

A key engagement is planned on July 7 at the headquarters of global electronics giant LG, where Lokesh will hold discussions with senior executives

In a major push to attract global investments into Andhra Pradesh, Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh will undertake an official visit to South Korea from July 5 to 11 at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Korea. The week-long tour aims to deepen bilateral cooperation and showcase Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination for investments in electronics, manufacturing, semiconductors and emerging technologies. According to the invitation extended by South Korean Consul General Chang Nyun Kim, the visit is expected to further strengthen India-Korea relations and open new avenues for industrial collaboration.

Lokesh will begin his tour on July 5 by interacting with the Indian diaspora in Seoul, where he will address the Telugu community and other Indian professionals. On July 6, he will participate in a roundtable meeting with South Korean technology startups to discuss investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. He is also scheduled to hold separate meetings with Hyosung Heavy Industries Association President Takeshi Yokota and Seoul Semiconductor Vice President Taehyung Lee.

He will also attend a dinner hosted by LG Chem Global Strategy Centre President Yoon Joo Koh, with top representatives from various LG group companies expected to participate. The Minister will meet representatives of the Korean Marine Equipment Association on July 8, followed by meetings with South Korean Deputy Ministers handling Political Affairs, International Trade and Investment on July 9.

On July 10, Lokesh will participate in investment discussions with leading companies and attend a roundtable organized by the Korea Auto Industry Cooperation Agency. Later that evening, he will lead a special roadshow inviting Korean companies to participate in the CII Partnership Summit-2026 to be held in Visakhapatnam. The Andhra Pradesh government expects the visit to translate into significant investment commitments, further strengthening the state’s position as an emerging manufacturing and technology hub.
