Telangana Tourism, Culture, Prohibition & Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Saturday welcomed NITI Aayog’s appreciation of the State’s tourism and hospitality reforms, saying the recognition reflects Telangana’s strong commitment to ease of doing business and investor-friendly governance.
Referring to NITI Aayog’s report, “Unlocking Growth in Tourism and Hospitality Sector,” the Minister said the State’s sustained policy reforms have created a favourable investment climate and positioned Telangana as an emerging destination for tourism and hospitality projects.
The report highlights Telangana’s initiatives, including simplified hotel development regulations, greater flexibility in land use, streamlined approval procedures, enhanced Floor Area Ratio (FAR) provisions, rationalised parking norms and an efficient single-window clearance mechanism. NITI Aayog has also recommended that other States examine Telangana’s model for promoting investments in the tourism and hospitality sector.
Jupally Krishna Rao said these reforms, implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, have strengthened investor confidence and encouraged greater private participation. He added that the Telangana Tourism Policy 2025-2030 has already generated encouraging investor response and is expected to attract major investments, create employment opportunities and drive sustainable tourism-led economic growth.
The Minister recalled that NITI Aayog had earlier recognised Telangana’s tourism destinations and best practices in its reports. He said the latest recognition further validates the Government’s transparent, reform-oriented and investor-centric approach.
Reaffirming the Government’s commitment to progressive reforms and tourism infrastructure development, Jupally Krishna Rao said Telangana would continue facilitating investments and unlocking its tourism potential to emerge as one of India’s leading destinations for tourism and hospitality investments.
