Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Pithapuram MLA Pawan Kalyan is set to undertake an extensive three-day tour of his home constituency from Friday, combining administrative reviews, development initiatives and cultural celebrations. According to the tour schedule, Pawan Kalyan will arrive in Pithapuram on Thursday night. On Friday morning at 10.30 am, he will formally inaugurate the pre-Sankranti celebrations titled ‘Pithapuram Sankranti Mahotsavams’ at the RRBHR College grounds. The festival is being organised as a grand showcase of Telugu culture, traditions and folk arts.
Following the inauguration, the Deputy Chief Minister will lay foundation stones and inaugurate several development works in the constituency at 11.30 am. He will later visit the festival venue to review cultural programs and inspect exhibition stalls set up as part of the celebrations. In the evening, Pawan Kalyan will tour flood-affected areas within the Pithapuram Municipal limits, including Indiranagar Colony and Mohan Nagar near the railway station, which were impacted by recent rains. He is expected to interact with residents and assess local issues on the ground.
On the second day of his visit, Saturday, the Deputy Chief Minister will inspect housing sites earmarked for the poor in Gollaprolu mandal during the morning hours. He will then proceed to Kakinada, where he will reach the District Police Office at 10.30 am to chair a high-level review meeting with senior police officials on the law and order situation in the district. Later in the afternoon, at 3 pm, he will lay foundation stones for development works at Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada. The three-day Sankranti Mahotsavams in Pithapuram have been planned as a vibrant cultural spectacle reflecting the spirit of Telugu traditions. On the first day (January 9), performances will include Haridasu keertanas, Gangireddula aata, folk songs, Veeranatyam, Tappeta Gullu, Garaga dances, tribal art forms such as Thimsa and Lambadi dances, along with classical performances like Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam.
The second day (January 10) will feature the continuation of these programs, with a special attraction being traditional martial arts performances from Kerala. The festival will conclude on January 11 with rural folk music performances and a grand film music night, marking the end of the celebrations on a festive note.
