Poet and columnist Annavaram Devender has been selected for the prestigious "Sri Dasharathi Krishnamacharya Award 2025", announced by the Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture (YAT&C) Department of Telangana.
The government issued orders on Monday, approving the recommendation made by a specially constituted selection committee. The committee, headed by the Director of the Department of Language and Culture, met on July 16 at Kala Bhavan, Hyderabad, and unanimously proposed Devender’s name in recognition of his literary contributions.
This annual award, named after celebrated Telugu poet Dasharathi Krishnamacharya, honours eminent literary personalities who have significantly contributed to Telugu literature. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1,01,116, along with a memento and a shawl.
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary to the Government, issued the formal order and directed the Department of Language and Culture to proceed with the presentation arrangements. As per the directive, no separate financial concurrence is required from the Finance Department for this award.
