Hyderabad: In a swift breakthrough, Saifabad police, in coordination with the Central Crime Station (CCS), solved a Jewellery theft case and arrested two individuals on Thursday. The duo was found in possession of 173 gold and diamond ornaments valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ronak Chadawa (24), a marketing executive at Shanaya Diamonds, and Mohd Hasnain Habiya (22), a student from Mumbai. According to police, both men had suffered significant losses in IPL betting and conspired to commit the theft to recover their losses.
The incident took place on September 5 at Vijay Shankar Lal Jewellers in Basheerbagh. A formal complaint was lodged on September 7, prompting a detailed investigation. Based on credible intelligence, authorities apprehended the suspects near Nampally railway station. All the stolen jewellery was recovered intact. The accused were presented in court and have been remanded to judicial custody. DCP Central Zone, K Shilpavalli, urged jewellery shop owners to conduct thorough background checks before hiring staff.
