President’s Police Medal for two SCR RPF Officers

- Madhusudana Rao and Rajagopala Reddy have long, decorated careers with multiple national and UN honours

- SCR GM praised their dedication to passenger safety and security

Two Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from South Central Railway (SCR) have been honoured with the prestigious President’s Police Medal for meritorious service on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.

The awardees are Gollamudi Madhusudana Rao, Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, Guntur, and K. Rajagopala Reddy, Assistant Security Commissioner, RPF, Renigunta. SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava congratulated them, calling it a proud moment for the entire zone and lauding their dedication to ensuring passenger safety and security.

Madhusudana Rao, who joined RPF as Sub-Inspector in 1989, has served with distinction across several SCR divisions over a 36-year career. He has held key posts including Assistant Security Commissioner at Railway Board, Rail Wheel Factory, Hubballi Division, RPSF Moula-Ali, and Vijayawada Division before taking charge at Guntur in April 2025. He earlier received the Indian Police Medal (2016), DG/RPF Insignia (2014), General Manager’s Medal, 5 PCSC Awards, and 16 DRM Awards.

Rajagopala Reddy, a decorated officer, earlier won the Indian Police Medal (2012), All India Railway Minister’s Medals for Best Investigation twice, DG’s Insignia, and multiple GM’s Medals. He has also represented India in UN Peacekeeping Missions in Kosovo and South Sudan, earning four UN Peacekeeping Medals for his service as Police Advisor during challenging periods.
