Protective Shield for Lives Sleeping on Footpaths

24-01-2026 12:00:00 AM

With the objective of safeguarding the lives of the most vulnerable sections of society, the Miyapur Police under the Cyberabad Commissionerate have once again set an example of responsible and humane policing. Noticing a rise in hit-and-run incidents during late-night hours within the Miyapur police station limits, the police anticipated a serious threat to the lives of beggars sleeping on footpaths. Instead of reacting after an accident, they launched a special preventive drive to avert any untoward incidents in advance.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of Miyapur Police Station Inspector Shivaprasad, with coordinated efforts from the station staff. During the early hours, police identified beggars sleeping on footpaths, prioritised their safety and welfare, and safely shifted them to the Alati Atom World Ashram located under the Abdullapur Met Police Station limits. A total of 22 beggars were relocated to the ashram, where arrangements were made to provide them with temporary shelter, food and care.
