The 77th Republic Day celebrations were held with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on Monday at Vignan University  , located in Deshmukhi village of Bhudan Pochampally mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. The national tricolor was ceremoniously hoisted at the Vignan Kalathoranam premises amid the singing of the National Anthem. Addressing the gathering, Professor Y.V. Daseswara Rao, Director of Vignan University, stated that a republic is not defined by rights alone, but equally by the responsibilities of its citizens.

He emphasized that despite India’s diversity in language, culture, and states, unity remains the nation’s greatest strength.  Highlighting the achievements of Vignan alumni across the country, Prof. Daseswara Rao encouraged students to make the best use of the academic and professional opportunities provided by the university. Later, Dr. Poonam Malakondaiah, Advisor to Vignan University and a retired IAS officer, recalled the historic Purna Swaraj  movement of 1930 and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence.

Dr. Malakondaiah called upon students, who are the future of the nation, to pursue their studies with dedication and commit themselves to national service.

The university campus reverberated with patriotic enthusiasm throughout the celebrations. A grand tricolor rally organized from the Vignan archway emerged as a major highlight. Cultural programs including patriotic songs, dances, and skits showcasing national integration captivated the audience.
