Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director, N Balram, has been awarded the title of Best CMD in South India by the Asia Pacific HRM Congress at a national conference held in Bengaluru.

The award recognizes Balram’s outstanding leadership and strategic vision that led SCCL to record-breaking performance and significant business expansion. Key milestones under his leadership include launching operations at the Naini coal block in Odisha, securing gold and copper exploration licenses in Karnataka, and initiating entry into the critical minerals sector.

He also led major renewable and thermal energy projects, with agreements signed in Rajasthan. Balram’s initiatives in financial engineering, employee welfare, and CSR have earned widespread appreciation. SCCL introduced a Rs 1 crore accident insurance scheme for workers and intensified green efforts, with Balram personally planting over 20,000 saplings.

Receiving the award, Balram credited the achievement to the collective efforts of SCCL’s workforce, saying, ‘This honor belongs to the entire Singareni family. Together, we aim to take Singareni to global heights.’
