Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on the previous BRS government, accusing it of prioritising schemes like the distribution of sheep and fish over crucial investments in education and employment. “While the BRS regime kept youth distracted with short-term welfare, it systematically neglected long-term empowerment through education and jobs,” the CM stated, underscoring the stark contrast in governance focus.

Addressing students as the Chief Guest at the Gurukula Awards function for Social Welfare students held at Babu Jagjivanram Bhavan, CM Revanth Reddy made a passionate appeal to students, particularly from Dalit, Tribal, and other marginalised communities. He urged them to shed any sense of inferiority and embrace the transformative power of education. “Recognition and respect in society come not from one's caste, but from educational achievement,” he affirmed.

Highlighting his government’s commitment to creating equal opportunities, the CM showcased initiatives like Young India Integrated Residential Schools and other targeted educational schemes. He emphasised the importance of celebrating icons of Telangana’s social justice movement by naming key educational institutions after leaders like Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Chakali Ilamma, and Konda Laxman Bapuji.

Revanth Reddy urged students to make education their sole focus until the age of 25, asserting that it is the foundation for a dignified life and successful career. “Stay away from distractions and make your parents and your state proud through your achievements,” he advised.

The Chief Minister slammed the BRS for its decade-long failure to issue job notifications and accused it of deliberately obstructing recruitment processes, including delays in conducting key exams like Group 1. In contrast, he highlighted his administration's swift measures — initiating competitive exams, publicly distributing appointment letters, and reigniting hope among the state’s unemployed youth.

Revanth Reddy called on students to hold opposition parties accountable for their anti-youth stance and encouraged them to play an active role in rebuilding Telangana through education. He announced a major allocation of Rs 200 crore to upgrade educational infrastructure to match corporate standards and reiterated his government's unwavering support to every aspiring student.

He highlighted notable decisions such as the appointment of the first-ever Dalit Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University in its 100-year history and the elevation of leaders like Gaddam Prasad Kumar as Telangana Assembly Speaker and Prof. Chakrapani as BRAOU Vice-Chancellor — all of which he said were based on merit, not caste.

Laptops and cash awards were presented to Gurukul students who gained admission into prestigious institutions such as IITs, NITs, and medical colleges, as well as to high achievers in Intermediate and 10th standard examinations. The event was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Dalit MPs, MLAs, and MLCs, further reinforcing the government’s inclusive and education-first approach.
