Pancreatic Cancer cases have been rising alarmingly in Telangana, especially among young adults aged between 35 and 50 years, according to Medicover Hospitals. Doctors at Medicover Hospitals observed that even seemingly healthy individuals are presenting with advanced stages of Pancreatic Cancer. By the time symptoms such as abdominal pain, weight loss, jaundice, and digestive issues appear, the disease is often already at an advanced stage.

India records nearly 15,000 pancreatic cancer cases annually. In Telangana, factors such as modern sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy diets, obesity, diabetes, smoking, and alcohol consumption are contributing to the rise. Additionally, nearly 80% of patients seek medical care only at a late stage, which significantly affects treatment outcomes. In response to this growing concern, Medicover Hospitals has launched dedicated Pancreatic Clinics. These clinics bring together experts from Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery to provide integrated care.
