Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the State government is providing support to persons with disabilities from a humanitarian perspective.

The state government has allocated ₹50 crore for this initiative. The distribution programme was held under the auspices of the Disabled Persons' Welfare Corporation.

On the occasion, Revanth Reddy said  the programme has been organised to convey that the state government is sincerely working for the welfare of persons with disabilities.

The Chief Minister announced that if two disabled individuals marry each other, they will receive financial assistance of ₹2 lakhs. Similarly, financial assistance will be provided even if a disabled person marries someone who is not disabled, he said.

"We will provide appropriate representation for persons with disabilities in government jobs. We will offer jobs to disabled individuals who have excelled in sports. The people with disabilities should grow by utilising the opportunities provided by the state government. Former union minister late Jaipal Reddy is an inspiration to persons with disabilities in Telangana," Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister further stated that the State government is providing government jobs and Indiramma houses to transgender people.

Revanth Reddy also requested the Ministers to nominate a transgender person as a co-opted member in the corporation and similarly, a transgender person should be nominated as a co-opted member in municipalities.

"They should be given the opportunity to voice their own problems. The government has decided to support the elderly through the 'Pranaam' programme. We will deduct 10 to 15 percent from the salaries of government employees who neglect their parents. We ourselves must bring those who neglect their parents back on the right path," Revanth Reddy said.

"Our policy is to provide 100 percent healthcare to every single person in Telangana state. We will be introducing a health policy in the upcoming budget session. The Telangana society desires social justice and equal opportunities," he added.
