The Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) statewide outreach program, ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam – Two Years of Trust – Development and Welfare’, has crossed the one-crore-family mark, achieving the milestone ahead of its scheduled 45-day campaign period. Launched on July 27, the program aims to take the achievements of the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government’s first two years directly to households while gathering public feedback on local issues, government schemes and development needs.
The campaign was conceived in June following Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s call to party workers to undertake a statewide door-to-door outreach under the slogan “Show the power of the cycle-get closer to the people.” The schedule was subsequently revised, with the 45-day campaign beginning on July 27. The CM held a teleconference with party public representatives and leaders on July 26, directing them to explain the government’s achievements effectively and work towards strengthening the party ahead of the local body elections.
The campaign recorded steady progress. On July 28, workers visited 2.18 lakh households, rising to 20.61 lakh by August 3. The number crossed 37.21 lakh by August 8 and 60 lakh on August 16. By September 1, the campaign had reached 97.32 lakh families, followed by 99.85 lakh on September 3 before crossing the one-crore mark on September 4. The outreach focused on the coalition government’s development initiatives, implementation of the ‘Super Six’ promises, farmer welfare, women’s empowerment and employment opportunities for youth.
Lokesh’s technology-driven monitoring and regular reviews helped track field-level progress, with ministers, MPs, MLAs and grassroots workers participating. While opposition parties criticized the campaign, alleging incomplete implementation of electoral promises, the TDP maintained that the program was aimed not merely at publicity but also at obtaining direct public feedback and strengthening governance and its grassroots organization.
