As Telangana enters its 12th year since formation, the Congress-led government is pulling out all the stops to celebrate State Formation Day on June 2 with unprecedented grandeur. This is the second formation day being celebrated under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's leadership, and it marks a major shift from last year’s muted events due to the election code.

For the first time since the state’s inception, international dignitaries—the Mayor of a Japanese city (name yet to be announced) and Miss World 2025, freshly crowned on May 31—will attend the celebrations as state guests. The day will begin with the CM paying tribute at the Martyrs' Memorial near Assembly, followed by a ceremonial flag hoisting, march-past, and a cultural showcase reflecting Telangana’s rich heritage at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad. Events will also be held at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi to mark the occasion at the national level.

A major highlight this year will be the launch of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam (RYV), a flagship youth empowerment scheme that will see 85,000 young beneficiaries receiving financial aid ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Sanction letters will be distributed across all 119 assembly constituencies in special ceremonies involving MLAs and local officials. The government will also induct over 5,300 newly appointed Grama Palana Officers (GPOs) into village-level governance from June 2 onwards, replacing the VRO system scrapped by the previous regime.
