Telangana Congress leader and AICC member Kota Neelima said the upcoming OBC gathering on July 25 at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi would once again prove that social justice is possible only through the Congress party.

She said Telangana had emerged as a national role model under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, where 57% of cabinet positions are held by leaders from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities. “For the first time, a Dalit leader has been appointed as Deputy Chief Minister, showcasing our unwavering commitment to uplift the marginalized,” she said.

Neelima also pointed out that Congress has ensured meaningful representation within the party itself. “With Mallikarjun Kharge, a Dalit, as national president, and Mahesh Kumar Goud, from a backward class, as the Telangana Congress chief, we’ve shown how inclusion begins at the top.”

In the state’s jumbo executive committee, 67% of vice president and 68% of general secretary posts have been given to leaders from marginalized communities. She said even MLC nominations reflected this spirit, citing leaders like Vijayashanthi, Addanki Dayakar, and Shankar Naik.

“We conducted a caste census in Telangana as promised and passed a law giving 42% reservations to BCs in the Assembly,” she said. “This initiative, led by Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy, shook the foundations of Delhi and sparked momentum for a national caste census.” She added that Telangana also became the first state to implement SC categorization, fulfilling a long-standing demand. “This is how we’re building a truly just society,” Neelima said.
