TG gears up for digital Census 2027

Census 2027 in Telangana will be conducted in a fully digital format, unlike the paper-based enumeration carried out until 2011, Director of Census Operations Bharati Hollikeri said on Thursday. The first phase, covering house listing and housing census, is scheduled from May 11 to June 9, while the second phase will take place in February 2027.  Around 88,000 personnel, including enumerators and supervisors, will be deployed for the exercise across the state. However, nearly 93,000 to 94,000 employees are currently undergoing training for the large-scale operation, reflecting the extensive preparations underway for the nationwide census activity.
