In a bizarre incident in Telangana, a thief robbed the liquor shop in Narsingi in Medak district late Sunday, but he drinks on the job and forgets to run away from the shop with the loot.
Thief gained entry into the Kanakadurga Wines in Medak district by meticulously removing roof tiles, disabled CCTV cameras. He looted cash from drawers, carefully packed all the bottles of alcohol and he even packed the security system’s hard disk.
After that, instead of running away from the crime spot, he decided to celebrate his victory before the New Year and started drinking alcohol at the shop. He could not resist the temptation of the liquor bottles ahead of New Year’s Day.
After drinking excessively, the thief passed out on the floor of the liquor shop and he was discovered by the shop's staff on Monday morning. When the staff arrived at the shop, they found the thief unconscious and cash and liquor bottles were scattered around him. His robbery plan fell apart when he decided to celebrate his victory at the liquor shop.
Parsha Goud, the Kanakadurga wine shop owner said they closed the shop on Sunday night and went home and when the shop was opened on Monday morning at 10am, a thief had fallen asleep and was found inside. He packed all the wine bottles, shop's CCTV cameras, hard disks and money in a bag and consumed alcohol excessively and lost consciousness.
Wine shop staff alerted the local police, they came to the shop and rushed the man to Ramayampet Government Hospital. Police confirmed that the thief remained unidentified as he was heavily intoxicated. A case has been registered and the police were waiting for him to regain consciousness to proceed with the investigation.
Same kind of incident happened last October, Delhi Police reported arresting a 27-year-old man accused of breaking into a wine shop in Krishna Nagar in East Delhi. The suspect drank liquor from the store and passed out inside.
