The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, in coordination with the Chatrinaka Police, apprehended three individuals involved in the illegal procurement and sale of Indian Made Foreign (IMF) liquor in Hyderabad. The arrests were made for selling liquor without a valid license, in violation of Excise Rules.
The accused have been identified as N Shobha Rani (50), Deepak Kumar (26), and Nitish Kumar (21), all residents of Chatrinaka. Authorities seized 70.2 liters of IMF liquor and beer amounting to 195 bottles worth approximately Rs 50,000.
Shobha Rani, the prime accused, is a repeat offender known for illegally selling liquor from her residence after the closure of wine shops. She allegedly purchases liquor in bulk from licensed outlets and resells it at a higher price without any license. Police revealed that 33 cases have already been registered against her under the Excise Act and the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition and Excise Act.
The other two accused, Deepak Kumar and Nitish Kumar, reportedly aided in transporting the liquor using a motorcycle and were actively involved in distributing the bottles to local buyers. All three have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
