Congress must stop complaining and start executing
The Union Budget 2026–27 is a historic blessing for Telangana, especially with more than 35% urban population and the expansion of GHMC making Hyderabad one of the largest urban agglomerations in India. Unfortunately, Congress leaders in Telangana lack both the knowledge and administrative vision required to tap this massive opportunity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened Telangana’s growth prospects by approving three major high-speed rail corridors from Hyderabad to Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune, positioning Hyderabad as a national logistics and mobility hub.
This move alone can transform trade, tourism and inter-city business connectivity across South India. The Union Budget has earmarked a record Rs 12.12 lakh crore capital expenditure, creating enormous scope for Telangana to accelerate flagship projects such as RRR (Regional Ring Road), radial roads, Metro Rail Phase-2, and MMTS expansion. With proper planning, Telangana can secure thousands of crores for infrastructure modernization. Under the VB G-RAM-G rural employment and asset creation mission, with an allocation of Rs 95,000 crore, Telangana can easily tap Rs 5,000 crore to strengthen rural infrastructure, irrigation assets and livelihoods.
In addition, central funds for bio-pharma innovation, renewable energy, urban development risk funds, and affordable housing can further boost Telangana’s economy. The Centre has increased Telangana’s overall allocation by 13.5% compared to previous years, clearly reflecting the Modi government’s commitment to the state’s development. The problem is not the availability of funds, but the Congress government’s lack of execution capacity. If Congress ministers lack skill and vision, BJP leaders are ready to assist in the interest of Telangana.
As a former TRS MPP (2014–2019), I was able to secure projects like AIIMS, Kendriya Vidyalaya, MMTS expansion and NH-930P (Gowrelly–Kothagudem) even while sitting in the opposition. This proves that the Modi government always responds to genuine development demands without political bias. It is time Congress leaders stop ceremonial criticism and start working seriously to utilize the massive opportunities created by the Union Budget. Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is not a slogan — it is a development reality Telangana must embrace.
