Vigilance officials inspect Srisailam temple

There have been allegations of irregularities in the construction work carried out in the Ganesh Sadana 224-room facility and others. The searches began on Wednesday under the supervision of Kurnool Regional Vigilance and Enforcement

Vigilance officials have raided Bhramarambika Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam on Wednesday, which continued till Thursday, basing on the complaint that several corruption and irregularities have taken place in the temple.

The searches began on Wednesday under the supervision of Kurnool Regional Vigilance and Enforcement officers basing on a complaint form locals that there was embezzlement of those funds, continued on Thursday as well.

These raids continued under the supervision of Vigilance Enforcement Officers Chowdeshwari, and Divisional Engineer, Chandrasekhar Reddy.

Corrupt officials are being choked by the raids of vigilance officials. Some official said that there have been allegations of irregularities in the construction work carried out in the Ganesh Sadana 224-room facility and Nakshatravanam border wall areas which was aimed at protecting devotees from wild animal attacks,under the temple.

It is noteworthy that these raids were carried out on the basis of allegations of corruption in the funds that were given for the development of Srisailam. In the previous YSRCP government, there was a public argument on the stage between the then former MLA Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy and the then Minister for Endowments Kottu Satyanarayana regarding the works.

Many allegations have been made that the development of Srisailam has been hampered. Even the current Nandyal MP Byreddy Sabari has alleged that corruption and irregularities have taken place in the Srisailam temple and that YSRCP candidates are committing crimes in shops.

Earlier, the previous government had released funds worth Rs 63 crore to undertake various development projects at Srisailam.
