Yashoda Hospitals-Secunderabad introduced Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) technology for the treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders. Using the advanced Medtronic Pulse Select™ Pulse Field Ablation System, procedures were successfully performed on two patients aged 31 and 84 suffering from complex cardiac arrhythmias. Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) is an innovative, non-thermal ablation technology primarily used to treat Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and other complex cardiac rhythm disorders.
The first patient, a 31-year-old man with recurrent palpitations and breathlessness underwent a PFA procedure following which he recovered with restoration of a normal heart rhythm. The second patient was diagnosed with Persistent Atrial Fibrillation and underwent a PFA procedure following which his heart rhythm was restored to normal sinus rhythm and he was discharged in a stable condition.
The procedures were performed by Dr. M. S. Chandramouli, Senior Cardiac Electrophysiologist & Heart Failure Specialist, along with the Electrophysiology team at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad. Dr. M. S. Chandramouli mentioned that Pulse Field Ablation represents a revolutionary advancement in the treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders. He said that the PulseSelect™ PFA System has enabled the doctors to perform catheter ablation with greater precision while significantly enhancing patient safety.
