AP partners with Schneider Electric

The state government has entered into a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric India Foundation. The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Amaravati in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resource Development, Electronics & IT.

Under the leadership of the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), the collaboration will focus on modernizing training infrastructure across the state, with an emphasis on sectors poised for future growth such as electronics, construction, and green energy. The initiative will establish 20 advanced training labs in government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Polytechnic Colleges, and National Academy of Construction (NAC) centers over a three-year period from April 2024 to March 2027.

These state-of-the-art labs will be equipped with cutting-edge electrical systems, solar power technologies, and industrial automation tools. More than 9,000 young individuals are expected to benefit from this initiative, receiving skill-based education aligned with global industry standards.

Schneider Electric India Foundation has committed an investment of approximately Rs.5 crore towards the procurement of training equipment, consumables, digital learning materials, and the implementation of Training of Trainers (ToT) programs. Schneider Electric has agreed to take up three flagship initiatives that include the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Mangalagiri with an estimated investment of Rs.15 crore, a Research & Innovation Center in Ananthapur to promote applied research and facilitate collaboration between academia and industry and a modern power optimization pilot project will be launched in the ASR district, serving as a model for sustainable and efficient energy management practices.

The training centers selected for this initiative include four NAC Centers in Amaravati, Kuppam, and PM Lanka (Chittoor); nine Government ITIs in locations such as Araku, Rajahmundry (Girls), Narsipatnam, Nuziveedu, Ongole (Boys), A.S. Peta, Karvetinagaram (Girls), Kadapa (Minorities), and Srisailam; and seven Government Polytechnics in Srikakulam, Guntur, Anantapur, Chandragiri, Nandyal, Gannavaram, and Ongole.
