The annual Sri Balkampet Yellamma Kalyana Mahotsavam was celebrated with religious fervour on Tuesday, drawing thousands of devotees to the temple. The celestial wedding ceremony of Goddess Yellamma was performed amid Vedic chants and traditional rituals, creating a spiritual atmosphere at the temple premises.
On behalf of the Telangana Government, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar presented Pattu Vastram to the presiding deity. Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, TPCC Vice President and Sanathnagar constituency in-charge Dr. Kota Neelima, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s wife Geetha Reddy and daughter, along with several officials and public representatives, participated in the celebrations and offered prayers.
Dr. Kota Neelima said the government made extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for devotees. She said multiple departments coordinated to provide security, traffic management, sanitation, drinking water facilities and uninterrupted power supply during the event.
She highlighted that the government allocated Rs 20 crore for Bonalu celebrations across Telangana and reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the state’s cultural traditions. Dr. Neelima also inspected arrangements at the temple, interacted with devotees, distributed drinking water and ensured special care for senior citizens, women and children.
