Renova BIBI expands oncology services

Renova BIBI Cancer Hospital, Malakpet, has expanded its Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cellular Therapy services, offering advanced treatment for children and adults with blood cancers and complex blood disorders. The hospital said the facility will provide internationally benchmarked treatment to patients from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states at affordable costs.

Dr. MD Nadeem Ahmed, Senior Consultant, Medical and Hemato-Oncologist, and Clinical Lead for Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy, said early diagnosis and timely treatment play a vital role in improving outcomes for patients with blood cancers. The hospital provides treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), lymphoma and multiple myeloma through autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplants, including matched sibling, matched unrelated donor (MUD) and haploidentical transplants.

The centre also offers CAR-T Cell Therapy, an advanced immunotherapy that uses a patient's genetically modified T-cells to identify and destroy cancer cells. Dr. Ahmed said the therapy has shown promising results in selected patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other difficult-to-treat blood cancers.

Dr. Vishal Toka, Head of Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy, said the department follows internationally accepted treatment protocols while providing multidisciplinary and personalised care.

Medical Director Dr. Syed Akram Kothwal said the dedicated transplant centre reflects the hospital's commitment to making advanced cancer treatment more accessible and affordable. Hospital COO Prof. Mohammad Masood Ahmed highlighted the increasing burden of cancer and stressed the need for specialised oncology centres. The BMT unit includes HEPA-filtered transplant suites for infection control, round-the-clock specialist care, and treatment for conditions including thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia and other genetic and autoimmune blood disorders.
