BITS Pilani WILP confers degrees to 15,153 professionals

BITS Pilani’s Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) conferred degrees upon a record 15,153 working professionals across 30 specialized disciplines.  Held at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus, the ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest, Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dixon Technologies, along with Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, and Prof. S. Gurunarayanan, Director-in-Charge, in the presence of students, parents, faculty members and other stakeholders.

Dr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chancellor of BITS Pilani,emphasised in his speech that India stands at a pivotal juncture in its economic journey, poised to lead the global knowledge and industrial order. To sustain this momentum, the traditional demarcation between education and employment must permanently dissolve. He further mentioned that the graduation of over 15,000 working professionals is not merely an institutional milestone; it is proof of Indian workforce driving the nation's economic resilience and technological sovereignty on the global stage.

Chief Guest Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Dixon Technologies, mentioned that BITS Pilani’s Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) serve as a vital bridge between academia and industry, enabling working professionals to deepen their knowledge without pausing their career momentum. Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani, added that by seeing working professionals from tech, healthcare, defence, and manufacturing graduate together reflects how higher education directly powers the working economy.
