The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), in partnership with the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), launched a ground-breaking report titled ‘Sustainable Workspace – Catalyst for Productivity and Profitability in Indian Businesses’ at the CII Green Business Centre on Friday.
Developed with academic backing from IIM Ahmedabad, the report highlights how sustainable workspaces can transform Indian businesses. It finds that organizations adopting green building practices see significant gains in employee well-being, engagement, and productivity ultimately boosting overall business performance.
The multi-year study, the first of its kind in the world, drew insights from 75 case study partners, 1,100 occupant responses across six cities, and over 900 indoor environment quality data points. The findings present strong, data-driven evidence that sustainable workspaces not only fulfill environmental goals but also deliver measurable value to both employees and organizations.
The report was officially released by H E Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy to India, and R V Karnan, Commissioner of GHMC.
