The Congress high command on Sunday appointed 41 District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents for Andhra Pradesh, covering all districts and major urban centers in the state. The appointments were formally announced by K C Venugopal, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).In an official statement, Venugopal said the appointments were made with the approval of Mallikarjun Kharge and would come into effect immediately.

He noted that the selection process followed an extensive consultative exercise conducted by AICC-appointed observers in each district. “These observers held wide-ranging reviews and consultations with party workers, local leaders, and key stakeholders before submitting comprehensive reports. The new DCC presidents were selected based on those assessments,” the statement said.

The move is seen as part of the Congress party’s organizational restructuring in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at strengthening the grassroots network and preparing the party for future political challenges. Party leaders said the new team is expected to play a key role in revitalizing the Congress organization at the district level and mobilizing cadre strength across Andhra Pradesh.

Some of the newly appointed DCC presidents are Addala Venkata Varma Raju for Visakhapatnam, Narahari Shetty Narasimharao for Vijayawada city, B. Muralidhar for Rajamahendravaram city, S. Jilani  for Kurnool city and Gaudaperu Chittibabu for Tirupati city
