Domalguda Police arrested Parvathi Shankara Matam Govardhan (27), a caretaker, for robbing gold ornaments from a residence in Heritage Apartments in Himayath Nagar.

Police recovered 6.7 tolas of gold (four bangles and a mangalsutra) and one mobile phone. On October 13, a complaint was filed by Joginapalli Sreedhar Rao, reporting an attack on his elderly in-laws. Caretaker Govardhan, employed since Nov 2024, was missing since October 12. Upon inspection, valuables were found stolen, and the victims severely injured.

A case was registered and the accused was tracked to Kunderu in Krishna district. During interrogation, he confessed to attacking the victims with a pestle and robbing them to fund online betting and vices. He pledged part of the gold at Muthoot Finance, Kankipadu, for Rs 3.25 lakhs.
