Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Team, in coordination with local police, busted a drug peddling network and arrested a 17-year-old boy in Ghatkesar on Friday. Authorities seized 5.1 kg of hashish oil, estimated to be worth Rs 1.15 crore.

The juvenile, hailing from Alluri Sitharamaraju district in Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly acting as a courier for a key accused identified as Debendra Jhodia alias Srinu from Chitrakonda, Odisha. Investigators revealed that the two had planned to smuggle the contraband from Odisha to Hyderabad to earn quick money.

As per the police, Srinu handed over the hashish oil to the minor, who then boarded a train to Hyderabad. Upon his arrival at the Ghatkesar railway station, his suspicious behavior drew the attention of patrolling officers. A search led to the recovery of two polythene packets of hashish oil hidden in his backpack, along with a mobile phone.
