Elaborate arrangements for Republic Day:CS

In view of the 77th Indian Republic Day celebrations being held for the first time in the capital region on January 26th, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand directed the officials of the concerned departments to make robust and extensive arrangements.On Wednesday, he reviewed the preparatory arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations with the officials at the State Secretariat. 

On this occasion, he directed the officials of the concerned departments to take necessary measures regarding adequate drinking water facilities, sanitation management, temporary toilets, barricading, traffic control, and other aspects at the venue of the celebrations. Chief Secretary Vijayanand directed that strong measures should be taken to successfully conduct the Republic Day celebrations without any scope for errors in the arrangements. 

In the context of the Republic Day celebrations, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to decorate important buildings including Lok Bhavan, the High Court, the Assembly, the State Secretariat, and the Chief Minister's camp office with electric lights, making them look magnificent. He issued instructions regarding the security arrangements, traffic control, and parking arrangements to be made by the police department. 

 He instructed the electricity department to make adequate arrangements for uninterrupted power supply. He directed the medical and health department to keep emergency medical teams and ambulances available at the celebrations venue. He said that the Guntur District Collector should coordinate with various departments and supervise all the arrangements.  Earlier, the Principal Secretary General Administration Department, J. Shyamala Rao said that the themes for the tableaux should be prepared and sent by Thursday, the 8th of this month.
