Hyderabad: In a determined effort to ensure smooth traffic flow and hassle-free commuting for citizens, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has accelerated its ongoing Road Safety Drive, repairing rain-damaged roads across the city.
With the Ganesh immersion deadline drawing near, GHMC has stepped up the pace of works including pothole filling, catch pit repairs, road patching, cover replacements, and central median restorations. Under the directions of Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Chief Engineer (Maintenance) Sahadeva Ratnakar is supervising operations on the ground.
As of September 4, a total of 14,050 potholes have been identified, of which 11,442 have already been repaired. While 11,313 potholes had been filled until yesterday, 129 more were addressed today alone. In addition, 574 catch pits have been repaired, 328 covers replaced, and 12 central medians restored.
