Godrej Foundation, an independent philanthropic trust, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Ministry of Culture and architecture firm AUR to establish the Godrej Pavilion at the ‘India Biennale 2026’, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from December 4 to March 21, 2027. The pavilion will come up at Purana Qila, the Biennale's principal venue, and will be inaugurated on December 4. The MoU was signed at the Ministry of Culture in the presence of Joint Secretary Lily Pandeya, Deputy Secretary Shah Faesal, Godrej Foundation CEO Omar Momin and AUR Technical Director Subhradip Roy, along with Godrej Industries Group President (Corporate Affairs) Rakesh Swami.
Designed around the concept 'Shadows of the Arches', the pavilion draws inspiration from the geometric arches of Mughal architecture at Purana Qila. Ministry Secretary Vivek Agarwal described the pavilion as a meaningful addition that would connect contemporary design with India's architectural heritage. Momin said the collaboration would help promote Indian art while carrying forward traditional architectural elements through modern design.
