Hyderabad Police nab 312 drunk drivers

The Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 312 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol during a two-day special enforcement drive conducted on July 3 and 4 as part of efforts to improve road safety and curb drunken driving.

Among those caught, 245 were two-wheeler riders, 35 were three-wheeler drivers, and 32 were driving four-wheelers. The highest number of offenders (135) recorded Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) levels between 51 and 100, followed by 66 drivers in the 30–50 range. Another 61 motorists had BAC levels between 101 and 150, while 23 fell in the 151–200 category. Ten drivers registered BAC levels between 201 and 250, six between 251 and 300, and 11 recorded BAC levels above 300.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated that there will be zero tolerance for drunk driving violations and said such special enforcement drives will continue. Motorists have been urged to avoid drinking and driving and cooperate with traffic police to ensure safer roads.
