MP calls for effective delivery of development and welfare schemes

Mahabubabad Member of Parliament and DISHA Committee Chairman Porika Balaram Naik has directed officials to ensure that the benefits of various development and welfare schemes implemented by the Central Government reach every eligible beneficiary on time through effective field-level monitoring and supervision. The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting was held on Friday at the District Collectorate conference hall under the chairmanship of MP Porika Balaram Naik.

The meeting was attended by Telangana State Women’s Commission member Radhabai, District Collector Borkhade Hemant Sahadeorao, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Kekan, District Forest Officer Vikas Meena, DISHA Committee member Poornachander, Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Sampath Rao and other senior officials. During the review meeting, the MP directed the concerned departments to immediately prepare and submit proposals for the installation of an MRI scanning facility at the Area Hospital in the district headquarters.

Emphasizing the importance of education, he called for more effective implementation of the Samagra Shiksha program and the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.  Addressing agricultural issues, the MP instructed officials to ensure that fertilizer purchases and sales are carried out strictly through the online system and to take stringent action against black-market activities. He also encouraged officials to promote organic farming practices among farmers.

The MP further directed officials to prepare estimates for the construction of ring roads in Mulugu and Eturnagaram. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Balaram Naik said that the DISHA committee had conducted a detailed review of the functioning of various government departments in the district. Mulugu District Collector Borkhade Hemant Sahadeorao said that DISHA meetings are being conducted once every three months and that regular reviews of development works would continue to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of projects across the district.
