The Minister instructed collaboration between the Revenue and Forest departments to detail:
The report must include:
Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has directed officials to compile a detailed report regarding the lands assigned to government departments by the Revenue department over the past 30 to 40 years. This report should include information on the usage, current condition, and any related issues of these lands.
The Revenue department has distributed thousands of acres to various departments, notably the Irrigation and Forest departments, for a range of projects. However, following the bifurcation of Telangana State, there have been modifications and new additions to these projects, with some being canceled altogether. Officials were instructed to take these developments into account when preparing the report and conducting their analyses.
In a statement here on Monday, the Minister recommended that the two departments collaborate on a report outlining the amount of land the Revenue department has allocated to the Forest department over the past 30 years, as well as the land the Forest department has given to the Revenue department.
Officials were instructed to expedite this process, as there is a proposal to allocate 1,138 acres of forest land in the combined Khammam district for the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project. Additionally, the Revenue department had previously allocated 1,030 acres of land to the Forest department for the Kesavapuram drinking water scheme. Since this project has been cancelled, the Minister proposed that the viability of transferring this land to the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project be considered.
