GHMC invites bids till September 22
Metro India News | Hyderabad
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has kicked off the tendering process for a multi-level flyover and grade separators at the Rethibowli and Nanalnagar junctions. The total budget stands at Rs 398 crore, with Rs 220 crore earmarked specifically for the flyover construction. The remaining funds will cover land acquisition, utility relocation, noise barriers, consultancy, and related works.
As part of the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure programme, the project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model. The tender window remains open until September 22, 2025, with bids scheduled to be opened on the same day. The tender documents can be obtained for Rs 29,500.
The proposed design features a two-level structure—one serving the Mehdipatnam–Tolichowki stretch and the other connecting Langar Houz to Mehdipatnam via Rethibowli. Grade separators will be incorporated to ensure smooth and signal-free traffic movement.
Adding urgency to the rollout, Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi conducted a joint inspection from Nanalnagar Junction to Rethibowli alongside police officials and GHMC’s Project Wing. The inspection reviewed site readiness and planning for the ambitious undertaking.
Officials expect the flyover will significantly decongest the Mehdipatnam–Tolichowki–Attapur–Gachibowli corridor, a heavily trafficked artery critical to commuter and IT traffic. Construction is slated to take two years, followed by a two-year defect liability phase during which the contractor will address any needed rectifications.
