In a major boost to scientific learning and innovation in Andhra Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Science and Technology Pawan Kalyan, along with Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Science Park at the Regional Science Centre in Bommuru, Rajahmundry. Built at a cost of Rs.15.20 crore over five acres, the Science Park is a joint initiative by the state and central governments.
“We aim to usher in revolutionary changes in science and technology through this park. Encouraging students to explore new ideas and innovations is our key focus,” said Pawan Kalyan. “This Science Park, developed in collaboration with Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, will act as a catalyst for scientific curiosity, innovation, and knowledge among students,” Pawan Kalyan added. The two-storey facility features interactive galleries, including a "Water Worries" section focused on water conservation, and exhibits on basic science, astronomy, and India's technological journey. A planetarium, activity halls for workshops, and a dedicated Innovation Hub were key highlights.
Student innovations from Korukonda, including solar-powered pesticide sprayers, smart helmets, and night driving safety systems, drew appreciation from both ministers, who personally interacted with the young inventors.
Adding to the day’s inspiration, young astronaut Jahnavi Dangeti, who recently completed NASA’s International Air and Space Program and is now part of the upcoming Titan Space Mission, met Pawan Kalyan at the event.
