A detailed review meeting on safety on train operations across the Zone was held by General Manager-South Central Railway (SCR) Arun Kumar Jain at SCR Headquarters at Secunderabad on Monday. 

Arun Kumar Jain congratulated and complimented the team of engineering and Engineering Construction officials & staff for their dedication which led to the achievement of performance efficiency shields at National level. He also stressed and advised the officials to continue to exhibit outstanding performance in the current financial year.

The General Manager reviewed the safety of train operations over the zone. He stressed on ensuring safety and monitoring train operations in view of ensuing monsoon. He instructed the officials to maintain quality in execution and inspection of works. He also advised the officials to monitor the punctuality of the trains. He instructed the higher officials to conduct surprise checks on track maintenance and counsel the staff about the safety procedures. The General Manager was also briefed by the officials about the progress and installation of Kavach system over the zone. 

The General Manager advised regular counseling of the staff such as loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and for the staff who are involved in the working of train operations. Officials informed the General Manager on availability of the safety related stock like smoke detecting devices, fire extinguishers etc., over the zone. He instructed the officials to maintain adequate stocks in the depots to meet the unusual exigencies.

Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded through video conference.
