Investor-sentiment and overall market environment turned positive on Friday amid Israel-Hamas breakthrough, and growing optimism over the much-awaited trade deal between Indians and the US..

The BSE-30 Sensex climbed 328.72 points to settle at 82,500.82, and Nifty gained 103.55 points at 25,285.35. Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first step in President Trump’s plan for a Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages held by the militant group, marking a major breakthrough in negotiations to end two years of war.

“Retail investors and innocent civilians often pay a heavy price in wars and war fears, but hope is returning, and PM PM Modi’s post on X was interesting,” a group of retail investors opined. “Spoke to my friend, reviewed the good progress achieved in trade negotiations, and agreed to stay in close touch over the coming weeks,” PM Modi wrote on X. According to Dr. VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Investments, the overall market environment is turning positive. Domestically, there are indications of a trade deal between US and India with India ‘rebalancing’ its oil purchases.  “The better-than-expected results from TCS, which reported better revenue and margin numbers, can lift sentiments for IT stocks. A significant market trend is the elevated enthusiasm in the primary market.

The Rs 11,607 crore LG Electronics IPO (oversubscribed 54 times) is the reflection of exuberance in the Indian IPO market. Refunds from mega IPOs will add to the liquidity in the market helping the market to move higher,” Dr VKV pointed out."

“Investor sentiment improved after the government invited private sector professionals to lead State Bank of India. Pharma stocks rallied as the US revived the Biosecure Act, aiming to cut biotech ties with flagged foreign firms, especially from China, providing a strong boost to Indian CDMOs,” said Vinod Nair, head of research, Geojit Investments.
