Slew of foundations and inaugurations by Lokesh

Education, IT & Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday inaugurated in a number of foundation laying and inauguration ceremonies in his Mangalagiri Assembly Constituency.

Along with Union Minister and Guntur MP Pemmasani Chandrashekhar laid the foundation for the Nidamarru Railway Over Bridge(ROB) at Namburu Mangalagiri section. Being built at a cost of Rs 142 crores, this ROB, once completed would facilitate east movement of traffic in Nidamarru, Tadikonda, Mangalagiri and Amaravati areas.

The ROB will feature a four-lane roadway, with each lane measuring 3.75 metres in width. The total carriageway width will be 15 metres. To enhance safety, crash barriers measuring 0.45 metres in width will be installed on both sides of the bridge. In addition, a central divider with a width of 0.45 metres will separate traffic moving in opposite directions

Kaza East Lake Park in Mangalagiri

Nara Lokesh, along with Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, inaugurated the newly developed Kaza East Lake Park in Kaza village of Mangalagiri mandal. The park has been constructed with modern amenities along the Uppalapadu–Namburu–Kaza road corridor. The project was undertaken with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding of Rs 3.3 crore provided by Cellcon. Spread across a 17.18-acre lake area, the park has been designed with a range of modern features surrounding the existing water body. As part of the development works, the lake bund was strengthened over a stretch of 1.7 kilometres to improve its durability and appearance.

Rs 1,167.5-Crore underground drainage project

Fulfilling a key election promise, Nara Lokesh, along with Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, laid the foundation stone for the first phase of the long-awaited Underground Drainage (UGD) Development Scheme in the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) area.

The foundation ceremony was held on Pratur Road in Tadepalli, where the ministers also unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the launch of the project. The underground sewerage system will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,167.50 crore and the works will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model and implemented in two phases, incorporating both decentralized underground drainage infrastructure and sewage treatment facilities.

As part of the project, a total underground drainage network of 531 kilometres will be constructed. Of this, 300 kilometres will be developed during Phase I, while the remaining 231 kilometres will be completed under Phase II. The project also includes the construction of 20 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), which will be developed across 20 designated zones. Upon completion, the sewage treatment infrastructure will have a combined treatment capacity of 47.51 MLD. Phase I will create treatment capacity of 26.48 MLD, while Phase II will add another 21.03 MLD.

Lokesh, Pemmasani visit modernized “Vaikuntha Mahaprasthanam”

Nara Lokesh, along with Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrashekhar visited the newly modernized Mangalagiri Vaikuntha Mahaprasthanam, a state-of-the-art cremation and burial facility developed in Old Mangalagiri at Bitravari Veedhi near Dimpudu Kallam. The facility was upgraded with the aim of providing dignified and modern infrastructure for last rites and related ceremonies. Spread across 2.90 acres, the complex includes 1.90 acres designated for the Hindu cremation ground and an additional one acre allocated for Christian burial purposes.

As part of the redevelopment, four modern wood-fired cremation platforms have been constructed, along with four waiting halls located opposite the cremation area to provide comfort for family members and visitors attending funeral services. A dining hall with seating capacity for 60 people has also been developed to accommodate relatives and guests participating in post-funeral gatherings.
