Sri Sri Holistic Hospitals (SSHH) successfully saved a premature baby born at just 28 weeks, weighing only 860 grams. Delivered in the emergency room at SSHH Nizampet, the critically ill newborn was immediately transferred to SSHH Kondapur’s NICU. The baby faced life-threatening complications, including severe sepsis, shock, and respiratory failure.
Intensive care included mechanical ventilation, incubator support, advanced antibiotics, surfactant therapy, and cardiac medications. Over time, the baby stabilized and transitioned from ventilation to breathing independently.Despite experiencing jaundice three times, managed with phototherapy, the baby avoided major complications such as NEC, IVH, or bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
After 50 days in the NICU, the baby was discharged in stable condition, weighing 1.57 kg and feeding well.As the grandchild of a hospital staff member, the baby received treatment at a minimal cost. The mother was trained in Kangaroo Mother Care and home feeding practices before discharge.
