Sridhar Babu applauds TG’s growth with opening of 70 GCCs in a year

Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, has lauded the state’s exceptional growth, announcing the inauguration of 70 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in Hyderabad during the 2024–25 fiscal year—a national record. ‘Telangana isn’t competing with others; we’re competing with ourselves,’ he said at the launch of Eli Lilly’s new GCC on Monday. ‘Our goal is to reach 100 GCCs by 2025–26 through a strategic and focused approach.’

Highlighting Telangana’s leadership in the MedTech space, the Minister emphasized the state's unique integration of industry policy with emerging fields like life sciences, digital health, AI in healthcare, and data exchange.With over 300,000 STEM graduates annually and world-class infrastructure like Genome Valley and MedTech Parks, Telangana continues to attract top global players. Sridhar Babu announced that a new life sciences policy will soon be launched to further accelerate this momentum.

He noted that major global firms—including Novartis, AstraZeneca, Medtronic, and now Eli Lilly have established operations in the state. ‘Eli Lilly’s entry strengthens our global position. Telangana has leased more than 11 million square feet to MedTech related projects the highest in the country,’ he said.

Eli Lilly’s GCC will focus on AI-driven drug discovery, cloud-based clinical platforms, and automation in regulatory systems, setting new benchmarks in innovation. Sridhar Babu invited national and international companies to invest in Telangana’s booming MedTech ecosystem, calling the state a rising beacon in India's knowledge economy.
